Roadtrip to Italy – Part 3: Pisa, San Gimignano & Siena

Since we spent two nights in Florence, we decided to make a day trip to see some other towns in the area. We knew about the Torre the Pisa and that Siena was supposed to be a very pretty little town, but we did not now what we were going to see in San Gimignano.

Torre di Pisa (you will notice throughout, that I had trouble with the weather and still need to go over the pictures – sorry.)

A monument in Pisa.

Street in San Gimignano, this was really a cute little town and they had delicious sweets (I don`t know the names though) made from nuts.

The Dome in Siena. You turn around a corner in a town full of tiny streets and suddenly you see this, and it`s just impressive!

A very nice Place in Siena with restaurants and cafes.

    • I can imagine! But to be honest I think it was even emptier, since the weather was bad, rainy and cold and a little windy, too. But it IS a great place!

  1. I love Italy so much. The food, the people, the history, art, architecture. When we visited Tuscany in 2009 we went to a lot of the same cities that you mention here. We just loved exploring in our car and driving and walking (and riding bikes!) through the tuscan country side. this sound like an amazing holiday you had!
